Integermania! -
Certified Integermaniacs
Anyone who has ever had an Integermania solution posted on
this web site is qualified to use the title Apprentice Integermaniac.
To progress beyond the apprentice level, you need to play Integermania on a regular basis.
Earn participation points as follows:
- For each month in which you have a solution accepted and posted, you get
one participation point.
- For each month in which you do not have a solution accepted or posted, you
lose one participation point (unless you have none to lose, since we won't
let you go negative).
You only have to participate in one Integermania problem per month to earn
your participation point. Sorry, but participating in more than one
problem per month does not increase your earnings.
To become a Journeyman Integermaniac (or Journeywoman
Integermaniac), you need to earn six participation points. In other
words, you need to participate at least six months, and not lose points along
the way.
Individuals who currently hold the title of Journeymen Integermaniac include:
- Hardie, Pete: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada: Journeyman, July 2002
- Kite, John: Lenexa, Kansas, USA: Journeyman, March 2003
- Manoly, Bruce: Crescent City, California, USA: Journeyman, September 2024
- Skjäl, Anders: Turku, Finland: Journeyman, May 2004
- Bayer, Greg: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia: Journeyman, May 2020
To become a Master Integermaniac, you need to earn six
participation points beyond the journeyman level. Your reward for being a
master is the opportunity to propose another set of numbers and name to use as
an Integermania problem.
For every twelve participation points beyond the master level, a master
integermaniac can propose another set of numbers and name to use as an
Integermania problem. Also, they can be recognized by the change in their
title (to Master II, Master III, etc.).
